INDUS
Indus serves as an external and internal function for the South Asian community.
Its intentions are to share the South Asian history and culture with other ethnicities
as well as bring South Asians closer with their culture. Indus was formed to build
a strong South Asian community within the UCSB campus. It attempts to achieve this
purpose every year by having South Asian students seek out their culture, learn
about their history, discuss contemporary issues relevant to the South Asian community,
form an identity for themselves, and build bonds among each other. This is achieved
by a wide variety of activities, performances and social gatherings put on by Indus,
which brings South Asian students together.
